Satellite Gateway Technician

Have you ever driven past a field of satellite dishes and thought, "that would be a cool place to work!". Set on 35 acres in the beautiful country town of Dubbo, NSW, is a state of the art satellite teleport, receiving and transmitting data to various satellite networks from around the globe. Someone needs to keep this vital infrastructure up and running, and our client needs someone with a varied skill set and a very real desire to learn and work hard, to keep the operation ticking along. Your background may include some of the following;

- RF - A solid understanding of RF principals from a satellite, microwave, 2 way radio, or cellular background

- Electrical - A qualified electrician would be highly regarded, especially with aircon experience

- Solar - the site utilises a large solar array and UPS

- Cabling - CCTV, data cabling, wireless, PTP links

- Data centre - IP networking or a general IT background

This is a hands on role, so you will need to have plenty of experience with hand tools, test equipment, fault finding, working outside, working at heights, and a very high regard for safety and OH&S procedures. You are not expected to tick all the above boxes, but you must have a strong desire to learn, and work independently, as you will be part of a small team where everyone's contribution is important. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 4:30, but due to the critical nature of this site, some after hours call outs will be required.

Qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or IT would be highly regarded
